Format

The RTCM standard format was made for maritime users, but the RTCM Special Committee 104 decides to expand the user community by including land-based and airborne users.

RTCM standard for differential global navigation satellite services defines communication protocols between reference stations and mobile receivers which allow very high accurate positioning, when compared with positioning system without augmentation. The RTCM was designed for supporting GPS and GLONASS operation with one reference station but it also takes into account new GNSS systems like GALILEO, BEIDOU and new satellite Augmentation System (SBAS).

RTCM format has evolved to the latest version 3.3, also known as RTCM 10403.3. which includes BEIDOU Ephemeris, GALILEO I/NAV Ephemeris and SBAS observations.

REGINA mission center with its latest generation of receivers provides this format including new messages in high resolution (MSM7).
